Master's Level Student Therapist Alyx Stange

Alyx Stange is pursuing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Her journey in the field of mental health began with a Bachelor of Health Science, majoring in Addiction Counselling and Mental Health at the University of Lethbridge.

Before her practicum placement, Alyx gained invaluable experience in various settings, including an addiction treatment centre, a therapeutic campus-based program, a non-profit community-based rehabilitation for brain injury, and as a community support worker for people with developmental disabilities.
​
This diverse background has equipped Alyx to offer a compassionate, unbiased, respectful, and inviting therapeutic environment. She is committed to a Client-Centered approach, meeting individuals where they are in their journey and ensuring they feel understood and valued.

In addition, she utilizes an array of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Strengths-Based Therapy.
Alyx empowers individuals by helping them to strive for self-acceptance, overcome challenges, leverage their capabilities, and find inner peace. Alyx is equipped to address addictions, anxiety, anger, depression, emotional regulation, grief, loss, trauma, life transitions, stress, burnout, self-esteem, identity, and self-compassion.

Alyx provides counselling services to children, adolescents and adults; her fees are $75 per hour and a sliding scale is available to reduce barriers to counselling services.
