Stacey Bjornstad

Welcome! It is said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and counselling is like that too. Making the decision to go to counselling is an important step and frequently made when you are struggling and feeling overwhelmed. I applaud your courage in making steps towards bettering yourself by acknowledging those things in your life that are no longer serving you!
My approach is first and foremost person-centered. I believe in prioritizing building a relationship with clients before and during the hard work of therapy. I am privileged to be part of your journey and I aim to allow you the collaborative safe, supportive space to grow and change. You are a unique individual who is the expert of your life experiences, and sometimes may seek a safe and non-judgmental third party to allow yourself the space to uncover your strengths, resiliency, and achieve clarity to your unique challenges. I am a genuine, warm, empathetic, and compassionate therapist who can help you on your journey to become the best version of yourself through self-discovery and personal growth.
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists as well as a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. I have experience and training in providing counselling to children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. My background includes more than 20 years of human service work for government and non-profit agencies.
